GE Centricity

GE Centricity EMR services were originally developed by IDX systems in 2003 with two applications- Centricity EHR which began as Medica Logic Logican and Centricity Physician Office Practice Management. The products were acquired by the company which was known as GE Medical Systems at that time. GE Healthcare took over IDX systems later on in 2006 and the products were re-released under the brand name Centricity.

Centricity is a conglomerate of 31 healthcare IT software solutions from GE Healthcare, A branch of General Electric. It includes software for solo practice, medical colleges, hospitals, laboratories, diagnostic centers etc.

The Version 9.0 of Centricity is CCHIT certified. Also, it has achieved ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification. Centricity has also been selected as the preferred service providers under the government’s ARRA HITECH Act. These serve as testimonials for this fully integrated EHR service that is designed especially to make the healthcare and IT tie up functions affordably, in an easy to use and customizable way. This advanced system is programmed in a web based manner and is a true ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) model.
